Trish Evans
Trish Evans is an artist whose work delves into the organic essence of coastal landscapes, capturing the momentary choreography of natural compositions, together with organic and studio life subjects. Utilising mediums including graphite, intaglio, and drypoint, she translates the dynamic interplay of movement and life forms into evocative visual narratives, often extracting and layering line to create a distinctive depth and visual impact.
Her contemporary photographic work has been recognised internationally, being selected for Earth Photo, a leading competition that stimulates conversations about our environment and the impact of climate change. Additionally, her works have been selected as a finalist for the East Midlands Open, an annual exhibition showcasing artistic talent from across the region. As a member of Leicester Print Workshop, Trish continues to expand her printmaking practice, particularly in etching and intaglio.
With over 25 years in the arts and cultural sector, Trish has collaborated with esteemed organisations such as Arts Council England, Engage International, and the British Council. She has pioneered creative programs and launched pilot initiatives, fostering connections between communities and the arts. Holding a BA(Hons) in Furniture and Product Design from Nottingham Trent University, her journey began as a lecturer before managing Creative Room in Nottingham, where she curated internationally recognised youth arts projects.
Her professional path also encompasses significant roles in conservation and environmental sectors, notably as Head of People and Nature at Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, where she led creative campaigns connecting communities to nature and as a creative consultant working across the conservation, heritage and cultural sector. She has also served as Chair and Trustee for Ecoworks, City Arts and The Sunseed Trust.
In 2012 Trish established her INSTAR practice with Nick Humphreys, producing UK-wide site specific artworks and responses to ecosystems, habitats, species and the environment. INSTAR is a member of the Nottingham City Artist’s studios.
