about INSTAR
INSTAR, founded in 2012 by Trish Evans and Nick Humphreys, is a UK-based collaboration dedicated to exploring the profound connections between art and nature. From our interdisciplinary studio, we produce contemporary public art, illustration, print, literature, and curatorial projects, all driven by a deep engagement with ecological and cultural narratives.
Our practice integrates the professional rigor of a studio environment with the fluidity and curiosity of artistic exploration. Working across diverse landscapes - from oceans and uplands to urban streets and rural habitats - we translate natural and cultural phenomena into thought-provoking, site-responsive works.
As lifelong naturalists and professional artists, we have collaborated with leading organisations, including The National Trust, National Landscapes, National Forest, Nottingham Natural History Museum, and The Wildlife Trusts across the UK, fostering meaningful connections between creativity and the environment.
