At Peace with Nature
By Mary-Ann Ambrose
At peace with nature
Let's go for a walk
Amongst the nettles
I see some wild sage
No cars so no petrol fumes
Or road rage.
The birds are free
The insects large and small
Over the various trees and bushes crawl.
In the distance you can hear
Another creature send out a mating call.
Open your ears
With your Nose Sniff the air
With Your eyes see an explosion of colour.
Stop for a moment
Listen to the nearby stream.
You now feel calm
But
When we first got to the woods
All we wanted to do
was scream.
